The job offer

Computers at work

My landlord probably posted a new ad on Craigslist because this morning my phone gets bombarded with calls from hoodtastic prospective tenants.

Some of the callers hang up on me when I tell them the building income requirement. Others hang up upon learning that their felony record and two month old unlawful detainer is a problem.

I am in Dinkytown when my phone rings for the 5th time. I am en route to buy a $30 xeroxed reading packet for my Weimar Cinema class. It’s my elective, and my only other class besides the tax clinic.

The phone rings as I park. I almost ignore the call because I think it’s from another unlawful detainer looking to rent. I answer anyway.

It’s not a prospective tenant, but rather the team lead that I interviewed with last month.

I was not initially picked for the position, but the department kept my resume in case another spot became available. A recruiter called me last week to tell me that the department was interviewing again, so I assume the team lead wants to schedule another interview or tell me that they picked someone else again.

He tells me that I have a job. I awkwardly try not to squeal.

I’m employed y’all!

Looks like my summer bike rides to Eagan will continue. Vöt!

Thank you! And yes, I’ve had a few awkward misspellings lately on my new phone because of swype’s auto-guess.

Congratulations. Does this mean the sun will set on your blog or will it keep going?

It’ll stick around! I’ve been a real bad “law school blogger” from the git and I doubt my new supervisor will object to this blog. It’s mostly a doggy-picturebook anyway. 🙂
