MIA the past few weeks? Me? What?
The last two weeks were normal on one level. I was busy living the Minneapolis yuppie life: work, long dog walks at the lakes, clubs, drag shows, cooking disasters, restaurants, cafes, museums, crazy hobos…
Some things did change though: I was approved to work from home three days a week, Amy Winehouse died, I gained a few pounds, and the heat wave finally ended.
The most important thing that happened during these past few weeks is that I decided to give up on that whole “post law school break” thing. My “relaxing” 40 hour workweeks make me antsy. So do the mice in this apartment. I need to move on and get started with my “all grown up” life. The first step is getting out of this collegey-apartment building. The next step is burning off these moobs. I’m too old for this crap.
Moving is scary though. What if I can’t find an apartment building that accepts the dogs? What if my car breaks down as I move? Landlord issues? Zombie attacks? So many things can happen. My first world problems are so intense…
Yesterday I took the first step in Project All Grown Up (PAGU) – I went through my closet and chucked everything that I no longer wear into huge bags.
This may have been inspired by a hoarders marathon….
I threw away one extra-large trash bag of clothes and donated three other trash bags and two Ikea bags full of clothes. Some of the clothes were from 6th grade. Let’s just say my closet is a lot clearer now.
The next step in my moving process is chucking/donating unnecessary items and getting rid of these grotty Ikea rugs. So much to do…
