Why some buildings get preserved is beyond me.
This is the Ard Godrey House, the oldest existing frame home in Minneapolis. It is at the beginning of Nordeast and apparently has 1850’s period furniture inside. Minneapolis has dozens of turn-of-the-century mansions decaying or severing as group homes while this comparatively unremarkable home is saved. It’s confusing.
Miami has a similar problem where the grand mansions are knocked down to make way for condos but a collection of gross wooden homes were hauled to some scrap of land at the edge of downtown.
