Shiek at Lush

After yesterday’s 10-hour workday, I met up with Phillip at the Eagle. We ran into Shannon, who ran into a piece of gum:

Shannon: “This is disgusting.”
Me: “What?”
Shannon: “THIS GUM IS FROM UNDER THE BAR! IT STUCK TO MY HAND!”
Me: “Buhaha!”
Shannon: “What is even more disgusting is that I AM STILL HOLDING ONTO IT! AHH!”
Me: “Wait! Let me take a picture!”

Oh classy.

Phillip and I went to Burger King after the Eagle.

Apparently, I am not the most graceful driver in the world because we weren’t out of the drive-thru before Phillip’s frosty exploded all over his lap. Ice cream was everywhere. It looked like a dairy cow shat in his lap and Phillip was unamused.

So we zipped over to Phillip’s apartment because he needed to take off the frosty-pants, and we then met up with Tyler at Lush.

Lush is always hilarious. There were toupees, tiaras, a mean set of dreds, awkward dancing…

… and of course, DJ Shiek.

Tyler is obsessed with DJ Shiek because she’s probably the best DJ in town. And of course Tyler and was too shy to talk to her.

So I led our group up to the DJ and said, “HEY DJ SHIEK! MY FRIEND IS OBSESSED WITH YOU AND I’VE HAD TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR AMAZINGNESS ALL NIGHT! HERE HE IS!”

I then scoot Tyler up to Shiek, whip out my blackberry, and take a picture like a soccer mom at Mall of America:

Eric and Jonathan were also in attendance. Eric lives in Des Moines now but occasionally slums it in the Twin Cities, whereas Jonathan lives in the ex-urbs and comes to civilization the city to socialize.

Jonathan’s talent is seamlessly group-hopping at the bar.

Jonathan will point out someone at the bar and say, “Oh they are cute! Lemme go talk to them! Hi! Do I know you? No? Well hi anyway! What’s up?”

And before you have a chance to think “who the hell is this random guy?” you are already in a 20 minute conversation with him. Jonathan needs to hawk QVC pans or something on TV…OxiClean maybe…

Everyone had pretty busy Saturdays planned, so we left the bar somewhat early.

But instead of going to bed I somehow ended up in the Taco Bell drive-thru. I ate my burritos while cuddling with the dogs and watching The Real Housewives of NYC online, which was a perfect way to end a hilarious night. Oh summer.
