I finally convinced Halvers that it was time for me to see Wisconsin. He thought the idea was thoroughly stupid, but Wisconsin was awesome!
And yes, the first thing we saw was a union worker protest!
I think it’s curious that everyone talks of collective bargaining rights. This Wisconsin union-hubub is not about collective bargaining rights, but pure politics.
The unions flex a lot of money for democratic candidates, challenged the Republicans, lost, and now the unions are shocked that the Republican governor wants to take them out.
Aside from the angry union workers, Wisconsin also had a lot of cute towns on the river with old bridges, cows, beautiful old churches, liquor stores that are open Sundays, and a lot of VFW/Supper clubs.
Oh for cute! I think the next adventure may be Canada.
