Culture shock

I stopped walking and stood in front of the display, mouth agape.
Me: “You have to me shitting me.”
Jamie: “What?”
Me: “Oh hell nah. Come look at this!”
Jamie: “Nothing can shock me.”
Me: “CAMOUFLAGE LINGERIE?! What…why…who would ever…”
Jamie: “Welcome to Minnesota.”

There were a few other fun things in the store, but nothing topped the camo-underbritches. Oh my goodness.

They also sold helmets… I don’t understand why someone would buy a government surplus helmet…seems too heavy for paintball…

I think that your reaction pretty much summed up my entire first month of college! west coast to iowa = total culture shock. But after lots of camo and odes to corn, you get used to it 🙂 and hey, you’re still in the “big city”! Life in the small towns is even crazier.

It was a shock because.Minneapolis-St Paul has 3 million people, so it’s metropolitan enough that I don’t run into camo-underbritches every day…although this was in a suburb…
