This weekend we went to a new drag brunch in Uptown Dallas and it was fabulous!
TNT Tacos and Tequila drag brunch is a sprawling afternoon show hosted by Mayra D’Lorenzo. There’s good food, a rotating drag cast, and lots of crowd interaction.
The details
Cost: TNT Tacos and Tequila drag brunch happens every Sunday. The show cost is just $5 per person, which is added to the end of your tab. Otherwise, it’s the restaurant’s normal menu with pitcher specials for margaritas and mimosas.
Food/Service: The food was delicious and came out quickly. It was also remarkable to see how much the staff hustles — we sat at the bar and watched the bartender (Britney?) take care of everyone sitting at the bar, make drinks for the room, and even run food to people seated outside. She was very impressive.
It also looked like the table service was excellent.
Location: The restaurant is at: The Quadrangle 2800, Routh St #155, Dallas, TX 75201.
TNT is located in Uptown Dallas (right by British Beverage Company) and normally has a huge parking lot, although on Sunday all of the spots were randomly blocked off. We found free street parking nearby, but the parking situation was definitely strange.
Booking: Call the restaurant for reservations – (469) 518-7888.
Reserving a spot for brunch is a little challenging because the restaurant opens at 10am, but the show is scheduled to start at 1pm. Queens were still rolling into the bar at 1:45pm, so we were at the restaurant almost two hours by the time that the show actually started.
Next time, we’ll probably be closer to 1pm and come prepared for a meandering afternoon show. The live DJ and cold pitchers of margaritas definitely help with the delays. Overall, this brunch is a toot and we’ll be back.
