It’s fall in Washington, D.C. and it looks like my neighbors are trying to squeeze in as much sunlight as possible during the afternoons.
I recently walked the dogs around the National Building Museum and stumbled across this idyllic scene of people enjoying the outdoors.
Then the thought occurred to me that my dogs have totally peed in every spot of the grass where those people lounged about. Whoops.
Having dogs has changed my interactions with nature — particularly in the city. I would never sit on grass because I know it’s essentially a dog toilet in every spot of town.
Maybe these people are heartier than me, or perhaps they just don’t realize what happens on that lawn before work. 🍂
