Forget the remix

I was furious with myself for not finishing a remix on time tonight. The remix is for a competition and the deadline is tomorrow. I put a lot of time into the remix, but the vocals are probably unsalvageable.

I also accepted that getting anything done after biking 32 miles and a full day of work is ridiculous. All I want to do is walk the dogs and watch reality TV when I get home. I need to start my Ableton work in the mornings from now on.

Also, the remix it doesn’t seem worth it after reading the terms & conditions of the remix contest. Basically, the record company would own the remix even if it is a complete rework of the song. I would also not be authorized to do anything with the remix besides give the remix to the artist. I could not upload the remix to youtube or soundcloud, so the remix is completely lost if the artist decides not to use it.

Forget that. I’d rather create my own content than provide free ghostwriting services for someone else.
