Graffiti up high

I’m always amazed how high tags are in Minneapolis.

It’s hard to see from the picture, but these are on a cliff that is not easily accessible from the top of the bridge. There is no easy way to access the pillars either.

The problem I have is that these are simply tags, and not street art. There’s no artistic value in scratching your name in spray paint. This isn’t exactly Banksy, and not worth risking your life to spray in high places.

You think there is no artistic value is scratching your name with spray paint? Banksy started with this type of stuff, and just because you know nothing about what it takes to control a spray paint can dosent mean it has no artistic value. People around the world make a living as artists and also do illegal graffiti. Go to this website and tell me this graffiti isint artistic.http://www.knowngallery.com/

Scrawling your name in spray paint is not inherently artistic.

I would also distinguish between good and bad art. There is nothing particularly accomplished about any of the tags in the picture, and they are not worth crawling out on a ledge for.

I do have posts of graffiti that I consider art. http://is.gd/gDott but name-scrawling doesn’t cut it.

name scrawling? WTF, even if you don’t understand something you can still respect the skill involved! You want to see some fancy-pants street art up there? WELL GO PUT IT THERE YOURSELF, ya jerk!

      It’s underwhelming. I can’t be bothered.

It’s about infamy. I climbed up this high ass scairy shit and there’s your proof- my tag. Though it would’ve been really cool to do something more artistic to accompany the signature, a tag is usually enough for a lot of people- aka- im ready to get the hell down in one piece!
