My mother lives in Miami. I spoke with her on the phone today:
Mom: “I hear you guys are getting snow later this week.”
Me: “Really? But it’s so beautiful out today! It’s hot and lots of people are walking around in shorts and flipflops.”
Mom: “What? It’s 30 degrees!”
Me: “What? There’s no way. It’s hot!”
Mom: “Okay, well, the actual temperature is 40 degrees, but the “feels like” temperature is 30 degrees.”
I checked the weather an hour later: 41 degrees. “feels like 33.”
It feels like 33 degrees and I’m outside sweating. I don’t know what I’m going to do this summer.

March 29, 2009 at 5:06 pmhaha, I remember that – anything above 15* starts to feel positively STEAMY! People toss off the parkas…but it’s really still cold. It was in the mid-70s here this week, which makes me really excited for 110* in July – not.

And I’m pretty sure I would have to put sponges under my armpits and dump colonge on my head to survive 110.
