We checked out Liyah Alize’s drag show at Liquid Zoo last week. It was exciting to see Liyah and Iroc Goodness again (who I first saw at Mr. Misster’s brunch) along with some performers that were new to me.
The show was technically billed as a “drag brunch” but with a 3pm showtime, it was really more of a tea dance show.
Brunch or not, this cast was excellent and the bar staff was very gracious when a performer got onto a table and sent several glasses flying (a true sign of a good show!)

Although I really like this dive bar, I don’t think the venue did justice to the talented cast.
Specifically, the drag room smells like dirty fryer grease because it abuts a kitchen with inadequate ventilation (maybe a broken grill hood?)
This has been an issue for well over a month and makes this place look like something from Bar Rescue. We mentioned the horrible smell to a bartender who just shrugged and walked off – so clearly the staff does not care or feels powerless to do anything. (We also have friends who refuse to go the venue because some staff members refuse to keep their masks on, but that’s another story…)
After a two-hour drag show, our clothes and hair (!!!) smelled like we just went dumpster diving, which is unacceptable. Therefore, much as I love a good drag show (or faux-brunch), this show is a boot until the venue gets it together. These queens deserve better.

November 27, 2020 at 12:22 pmNot surprised… owner is an anti masker. Always complaining about the rules and flaunting his wealth and many trips abroad with his sugarbaby.

November 27, 2020 at 6:36 pmNot surprised. The owners don’t take any complaints seriously. They don’t adhere to the COVID guidelines because they don’t care about anyone, just making money.
