Judd and I broke up this morning. He wants to move to the East Coast. I’m stuck in law school for another year. We decided it was better to be friends than to waste our time playing house until he moved. It’s like building your shack in an earthquake zone.
It was a tidy breakup. No drama, hard feelings, gas, or bloating. Well, okay, there was a little gas, but that was totally from the onions last night…
I took the relationship status off of facebook, deleted the “single” newsfeed story, and then changed my privacy settings to hide my relationship status. Discreet amicable breakup achieved right?
I had 8 text messages and 3 missed calls from friends within an hour: “We see that Judd is single on facebook! WHAT HAPPENED?”
Well crap. Didn’t think about his newsfeed. Fail. Apparently there are no secrets on facebook.
Earlier: Queens and breakups.

May 2, 2010 at 2:34 pmI refuse to tell facebook about my relationships. I feel like the updates would be secretly saved in some “Ruin Abbie’s run for office by talking to these guys” file that CNN would get ahold of and suck laments out of the boy’s whose hearts I’ve broken.

May 2, 2010 at 9:50 pmSo sorry about the break-up and the onion effect.
I too do not post my relationship status on FB, but only because when I’m listed as single the SEO ads that appear on my page are for “elite older single males” and hair wax
Good luck on finals btw!

May 3, 2010 at 2:53 pmAck! That’s almost as bad as the “find your gay date now!” ads I get on my facebook page. Good luck on your finals as well 😉
