One of my favorite parts about living in Washington D.C. was participating in Stonewall sports — billiards, darts and flip cup.
I often felt ridiculous rushing out of the office to pre-scheduled recreational sports, but it was a great way to meet new people. D.C. is also unique because there are so many young professionals interested in networking.
Oddly, the least social league happened to be flip-cup, which I thought was odd. There was just a lot of standing around and not much socializing compared to the other leagues. Meanwhile, the billiards team got really close, mostly due to our very active captain (hey Daniel!)
There are LGBT leagues here in Dallas that are currently in sign-ups, but I think it would be safer to wait until the pandemic passes before joining group activities. However, I am definitely interested in jump-starting our social network again. 😷
