Our new apartment is the bottom floor of an old house. There is a new outside entrance for the upstairs unit and the old staircase is now one of our closets.
The perfect place for my shoes!

Apparently Gertrude can stay still for photos!
I fear for her life sometimes. She thinks that my new Aldo shoes are chew toys, and it’s not technically animal cruelty if you’re defending your manlettos.
Last night Naomi (who I only knew from twitter) told me that she planned to take a group of her friends to the Townhouse for Welfare night.
Naomi saw me tweet and blog about Welfare/$1 Beverage night before, and she decided to see the carnival for herself.
I already agreed to meet Katie (another twitter friend) at the Thursday night drag show, so I wasn’t going to join Naomi for Welfare night. Well, that was until I got into my car and my Beyonce playlist came on.
By the time I got near the Mall of America, I decided that it was time to update my shoe game and get my boomkats on.
So I found myself at Aldo at the Mall of America. I updated my foursquare status and received a tweet from Kristin, who is also a twitter-friend that happens to live in my neighborhood. Kristin said she works at Macy’s and that I should drop by, so I did.
It’s 1am. Phillip and I are in the car, zipping around downtown Minneapolis. I ramble: “…tomorrow I will go out less, crack down, stay home and focus. From now on. Seriously.”
Phillip lets me ramble, but doesn’t believe it.
This was another cluttered week of work, exercise, dating, and reconnecting with long-neglected friends. Pictures!
I ran into one of those corny poster-sales on campus and realized that I could probably find something cheap to cover my large bare walls.
Ta-da!
The poster of the woman is actually huge (4×6 feet) the guy with the camera is the generic Target-picture that came with my poster frames. I just cut out the ad-like bottom portion.
The picture that caught most of the flash is of a couple sitting at an all-night cafe.
I also have a print of Waterhouse’s Lady of Shalott above my desk to keep things fancy:
The pictures definitely make the apartment look cozier, but Harley has not commented yet…
