Naomi and I went to the Ole Smoky Moonshine party at the uptown Famous Dave’s thanks to our favorite person Jenny!

The packaging of the product is really cool, which is why I think I am more likely to buy Ole Smoky for home use than request it at the bar.

After the moonshine party we continued the fun at Liquor Lyle’s and then had some gas station adventures in Northeast.

I ended the night at Lush with the Hot Mess Express team. I was an honorary member because I arrived smelling like ExxonMobil. At least the shoes were cute?

At #SoLoMoCon

SoLoMoCon at DemandQuest Markeitng Institute in NE Minneapolis

So I was one of the speakers at SoLoMoCon (Social, Local, Mobile Conference) which was thrown by RSP Marketing.

My presentation was a little bumbling, but the coffee was good and I met a lot of highly interesting people in the Twin Cities marketing community.

The most fascinating thing about the experience was to see how people used their smartphones and iPads during the presentation. It is extremely rare to see an iPad used at my office and a complete faux pas to use one during a presentation on campus (even at our huge town hall meetings.)

I have a suspicion that this is maybe unique to our corporate culture and pretty out of place with the rest of the marketing community. I wonder what the reaction would have been if I pulled out a Microsoft Surface…

It was two degrees on this morning’s dog walk, but skidding on the ice with the Rottweiler was hilarious.

This is Logan Park, in Northeast Minneapolis. I love that there’s no shortage of parks in this city – and nice ones too. Not like the First 48 parks we had back in Miami…

Concert at the 331 Club

So the group went to the 331 Club, which is right down the street from my apartment in Northeast Minneapolis.

It’s a very claustrophobic place. Hipsters are everywhere with crazy tattoos, backpacks, and scruff. I was surprised by how loud the music was and how pushy the people were. The hipsters just shoved their way through the crowd in a manner that would cause some Basketball Wives drink throwing at the Gay 90’s.

I’ve been taking the dogs to Boom Island Park more frequently now. It’s a newly renovated park in Northeast Minneapolis and it’s sparse enough that I don’t have to worry about too many other dogs.

The Beauty of Spring

Life is so full lately – I love my job, friends, dogs, gym, hilarious dates, and my brand new Aldo shoes. I think this is the slightly-bootleg yuppie life that I envisioned for myself when I first moved to Minneapolis.
