I have been in Dallas for almost a year and this city exceeded my expectations.
Although the decision to move to Dallas well-informed, I am still continually surprised by this place.

Exploring downtown Dallas in summer

The crowd at the March Gay Bingo / Resource Center Event at Station 4 in Dallas.

The crowd at Easter in Robert E. Lee Park & Arlington Conservatory.

The Giant eyeball sculpture across from Hotel Joule in downtown Dallas.

A 40-foot Playboy “statue” in the Dallas Design District.

The dogs by Trinity River Bridge

A drag queen wearing a rainbow dress at the iLume Gay Pride block party.

A drag queen / cowgirl at the Texas Gay Rodeo.

National Showman Pageant at the Round-up Saloon in Dallas, Texas.

Pink Flamingos at the Dallas World Aquarium

Pegasus statue in front of the Dallas Omni Hotel

Reunion Tower in Dallas. The ball lights up at night.
All of this Dallas fandom has not gone unnoticed.
In addition to making the Dallas-Fort Worth Relocation Magazine, I’ve inspired many of my friends to visit Dallas (and they all loved it!)
My relationship with my new city is going to get even deeper this year because I am joining The Dallas Morning News as the Mobile/Newsletters Editor. I will help revamp the paper’s digital newsletters, do some writing, and hopefully tackle some other fun projects.
This will also end my 7-year run at Thomson Reuters, which has been exciting. I started at Thomson during law school and worked with many smart people who believed in doing great work. I see that same creativity and passion at The Dallas Morning News, which is why I am confident that this will be an exciting new chapter in my career.
But now I have a new dilemma – should I bus, bike, or drive it to my new office?
