Do you think Eric watches Glee?
I have not owned a TV since starting law school. The problem is that I turn on the TV and 12-hours later I’m all, “DID I JUST WATCH AN ENTIRE CYCLE OF NEXT TOP MODEL?”
I refuse to be held hostage by marathons, and luckily I am too impatient to stream TV from Hulu…but I started watching TV since joining the YMCA across the street from work. Most of the cardio machines have attached TVs, so I can start catching up on the hot-messitude that I’ve missed.
My most recent discoveries:
- Toddlers and Tiaras (TLC): about pageant moms. The 10-year olds are so caked with makeup that they look like they are 35-year old local news anchors. The mothers are usually obese. Making little girls compete in beauty and swimsuit competition is probably an effective way to ensure an eating disorder later in life.
- Hoarders (A&E): Oh my god. It’s that horrible case come to life!
- Millionaire Matchmaker (Bravo): the Millionaires are awkward, the girls are freaky…it’s hard to watch, and harder to stop watching…
I don’t really want to go to the gym tomorrow, but I might just for the TV. Watch, I’ll have abs by summer just because I couldn’t stop watching Hoarders or judging the pageant moms…

February 10, 2010 at 9:48 amYou know, I’ve always wanted to figure out how to hook my TV up to an elliptical or some other machine that involved me exercising, in such a manner that, if I didn’t get off my ass, the TV wouldn’t work. But alas, I have not the skills.

February 10, 2010 at 12:32 pmThis is why the YMCA is great…because you HAVE to work out while watching or face judgy looks from soccer moms.

February 10, 2010 at 8:54 pmYeah, but I HATE people looking at me while I work out. I always feel like they’re judging me b/c I’m totally out of shape.

February 10, 2010 at 9:38 pmHm. My theory is: it doesn’t matter because they don’t know you or remember you…and in 3, 4, …6 months you’ll look better than them if you keep at it.

February 11, 2010 at 8:47 amTrue. I was a psych major in undergrad, so I have all these leftover weird little neuroses… Or maybe that was WHY I was a psych major. I like my Wii Fit, though! And I keep telling myself that once I start my lawyer-pants job that has semi-normal hours and stop this law school nonsense, I can go to the gym like most of the other people in my office do.

February 10, 2010 at 11:31 amI could care less about TV, however that was until:
MODERN FAMILY.
ABC, Wed. @ 8pm Central. Do it!

February 10, 2010 at 12:33 pm… I’m not at the gym at that time! Actually people were talking about it yesterday at Trivia… I’ve seen the previews and would watch it just for Sofia…but the time doesn’t work! Does it replay?

February 10, 2010 at 5:57 pmI wish I was that disciplined to give up tv entirely, but I can’t do without football in the fall and Lost. Other than that, though, I’m all about dvds.

February 10, 2010 at 6:09 pmI can’t be bothered to watch any shows on my laptop besides RuPaul’s drag race, so the DVDs aren’t a temptation!

February 10, 2010 at 6:24 pmNot sure if Modern Family replays. I usually watch it over and over on hulu all week as my procrastination of choice.

February 10, 2010 at 6:54 pmRuPaul’s drag race is the only show I let myself get sucked into online. I’m not opening the flood gate to new shows.
