Downtown Minneapolis was infested with zombies last night for the 6th annual Zombie Pub Crawl. Ghouls lined the streets like it was Halloween, Har Mar Superstar performed, traffic near the West Bank completely backed up, and there was even a zombie walking along the highway.
I didn’t participate in the pub crawl. It started super early (at 3-4pm) when I was still at work, and I couldn’t be bothered to spend money on makeup, ruin a white shirt, pay $10 for a wristband, and $15 for Har Mar. It’s a recession. That’s like four trips to McDonald’s.
My priorities are right. I have a muffin top to maintain!
I vicariously experienced the zombie fun at Lush and The Eagle. The Eagle was part of the official Zombie crawl route, so it was wall-to-wall thriller throwback minus the jheri curl. Jack and I sat in the corner and provided running commentary all night. Hilarity.
Maybe I’ll give you some zombie Rasheeda next year. We’ll see.
Edit: Actually, I should go as Milla Jovovich!

October 11, 2010 at 1:06 pmYeah….as another person with work to do, I was so not keen on zombie night. It took me almost an hour to take a five minute trip.
And forget walking; I saw a zombie skateboarding down 35W!

October 12, 2010 at 1:44 amI went to the zombie pub crawl for the first time this year. I had a blast! I only paid $3.00 for parking and the rest of the night was free. Other than the pop I bought at the gas station. I was the sober cab for the night. I brought my youngest Daughter and my Grandson with me. We walked around for a little bit then we found a good bus bench that showed us many many zombies. So we parked our butts there and zombied watched. We had so much fun! We are already talking about going again next year.

October 12, 2010 at 1:16 pmAs a 4 time Zombie Pub Crawler and one who get’s into the spirit of the event I can’t tell you what to like or not to like. To each their own and we happen to just be in huge masses. 7,000 zombies strong and counting last I heard, growing every year. There is a time to be an adult and a time to take a step back, live a little, experience stepping outside of the box and doing something different. Life is not meant to be a giant hairball, it’s made to live each day to the fullest with those you love. The zombie pub crawl this year involved my sister-in-law, new boyfriend, one of his friends and a guy who has been to every put crawl since it was around 100 strong. I’ve met many cool people at the pub crawl and lots of laughs. To those who say we are weird, messed up, crazy and so forth….you are probably the same people who tell us not to judge you. Take your own advice a couple times a day. Zombies we all know the story, the event we know the plan…let it be and if you don’t like it stay away. We are having fun and that is what we ask.
