I like the improvised slip covers. Before I get another dog, I’ll use slip covers or get leather couches. It’s like living in a snow globe with the dogs. Getting hair out of the fabric in a couch is almost impossible.
I have two approaches: I have an ikea couch with a removable-washable slip cover, and a futon (pictured above) with an bedsheet as the slipcover. I wouldn’t do leather because it’s easy for them to scratch up.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that hopes kids respond like dogs do Caesar, my pup still has his “home” aka his cage and when I was studying for finals and could just tell him to go home when he got to rowdy…I wondered if it would be socially acceptable to do that with children
