The second rodent den

My time as an apartment caretaker is coming to an end, so it is time to vent.

The main lesson: people are disgusting.

I wrote about these tenants before. The picture is just proof.

I saw another disgusting apartment today. The management company called and told me that one of the tenants bounced her rent check for July and failed to pay for August. The billing lady told me to key into the unit to see if the girl and her girlfriend skipped out.

…and yep. The tenants are gone. Sort of. The apartment is trashed and the bed, pets, and half of their stuff is gone. I think they might come back though because the fridge and pantry are full of food, liquor is everywhere, and there is an entire dresser of underwear left in the bedroom. Who leaves their underbritches!?

The biggest concern right now is that these tenants also left out pet food (rat food!) and I can see that the mice already found the pantry. The eviction process probably takes a few months so I can’t go in and chuck their food. In the meantime the mice will feast. Ugh.

I move out next week. Can I get a Ru-hah?

The plan (so far) is to make the second apartment area into a suite. So living area #2 will be a bedroom and bedroom #3 becomes a lavish closet/workspace. More details later.
