One of the first things that I noticed on the Washington D.C. subway (besides the terrible air conditioning) was a man wearing a hat with a “W” on it.
I figured he worked for Walgreens.
I grew suspicious when the “W” logo kept popping up, and eventually realized that it belongs the local baseball team — The Washington Nationals.
The logos are remarkably similar, but not identical. However, the letter styling is close-enough to confuse people who are willfully ignorant about sports (like myself.)
Besides the faux-convenience store outfits, other common outfits on the metro include Army and Navy uniforms, suits, Obama gear, and overly-long men’s shirts with strange hemlines that I assume are from Zara.
One thing that I haven’t seen are any “Make America Great Again” hats or shirts. Maybe those people aren’t inclined to take public transit.
