Dr. Cranky

Around downtown Minneapolis:

I went to the downtown Target yesterday to get contacts for the first time. After waiting in line for a half hour, I was told the optometrist was not in and sent to the suburbs.

The optometrist at the suburban Target was a cranky old man who probably has been telling the same jokes for 40 years. He quickly got frustrated with me which didn’t help me learn to get the contacts in any faster. It took about 20 minutes of jabbing myself in the eye while being scolded before I finally got the contacts in.

Later, when I tried to put the contacts in again at work, I tore the lens…so I have to go back today and hope that I don’t get more grief from Dr. Cranky.

Contacts are def the way to go, especially if you can sleep in them. Minn, looks like a nice, I’ll definitely have to add it to a road trip in the fall (before the winter that is).

One word of advice about contacts is to make sure you get your prescription from your optometrist. The person I went to for the first time had a nice little set up where I had to order my contacts through his him (which were much higher than other other places). Made it annoying ordering contacts again. Considering you got yours at Target though, it doesn’t seem like this is is an issue, but I figured I’d give the FYI nonetheless.

Ugh. So, I have to get another prescription because one is blurry, and neither is as clear as my glasses. The problem is that you can tell that no one at the Target Eye department likes their job…makes me uncomfortable.

Good luck with the contacts. I prefer them to glasses, but I’ve never had problems with them being blurry, usually they are much clearer than my glass. Hope you find a good fit because then contacts are way nice to have.

I didn’t even know you wore glasses, let alone contacts. Are these your first pair? I highly recommend lasik. The convenience alone is worth the cost.
