Cherry Blossom Season in D.C.

Cherry blossom season just ended in D.C.

This year I ventured to down to the tidal basin to see the famous cherry blossoms and it was a mess. The place is mobbed with tourists, particularly ones with baby strollers, and it is not the ideal environment to schlep two dogs into.

Also, the tidal basin resembles one large Instagram photoshoot, so you’re basically taking pictures of people taking pictures.

Off-brand cherry blossoms

Fortunately, there are plenty of cherry blossoms outside of the touristy areas, so not all of our pictures have tourists lurking in the background.

Next year, I’ll visit areas of Maryland and outer D.C. to see what the blossoms look like over yonder. But for now, we’ll have to settle for the blossoms in front of the apartment. 🌸
