There will be famine, crazies, and beyonce…

Tik tok on the block and the campus crazies won’t stop…

One major difference between the University of Miami and the University of Minnesota is that as a private school, UMiami was able to kick out the non-tuition paying crazies. Whereas here at UMinnesota, anyone can waltz onto campus with a sign about the impending apocolypse.1

I think I will stand outside of the law school with a sign as well. It will read: “THERE WILL BE FAMINE AND PESTILENCE IF WE DO NOT GET MORE COFFEE. SHOTTY WIRELESS, DRY HIGHLIGHTERS, AND CRAPPY IBM LAPTOPS FOR ALL!!”

The sad thing is, nobody would think you’re crazy:

“Who’s that guy with the weird coffee sign? And…what the…are those footnotes?”

“Oh, he’s just one of the law students. It’s fine.”

      It’s sad that that’s true.

I am sorry you find humor in this photo. The man may be homeless – does that make him crazy? The sign is about my son. The “footnotes” are references to scripture & the overall message in the sign is true. The police failed my son terribly. Please see “Footprints at the River’s Edge” – “Setting the Record Straight about Dan Zamlen”.

I am truly sorry that as a college student, a law student no less, you can be so heartless and have such a lack of concern for TRUTH.

The man is not crazy because he’s homeless. The man is crazy because he’s standing on the University of Minnesota campus with a rambling sign about a missing St. Thomas student.

And the fact that the “footnotes” are from the bible does not make the sign any less crazy.

I also do not have “a lack of concern for the truth.” My comments in the post are not about your problems with the police investigation of your son’s death. This is about a crazy hobo, with a crazy sign. That’s all.

Ms. Zamlen, if that really is who you are, Dennis was making a comment about a clearly crazy man and have nothing to do with the content of the crazy man’s message. I completely concur in his retort to you, and find it offensive that you would make such a rude and out of place comment on this blog. This blog is about law school, not about local Minn/St. Paul issues. Just because the content of this crazy man’s message has to do with your son doesn’t give you the right to blast Dennis with your holier-than-thou rants. We’re all sorry about your problems, but this blog and this post have nothing to do with them.

In order words, mind your own business. You have no idea who Dennis Jansen is, and just because something bad has happened to you gives you no right to come on here and accuse him of being heartless. Unless you have an apology to give, I think you’d be better to stay off of this blog in the future and keep your sanctimonious comments to yourself, because none of us are interested.

Clearly, what Dennis finds crazy is that random men with no affiliation to a given school are allowed on campus with signs saying *whatever.*

Clearly, he did not pass any kind of judgment as to the content of the sign.

To echo the crazy man, who is crazy for coming onto the campus of a school he presumably very likely does not go to with a sign that could say anything from the actual message about a missing student (condolences, best wishes with teh investigation), to obama being a ‘half-breed muslin’ to the MLB watching all of us in our homes, per a great Simpsons episode, JESUS CHRIST.
