Best Week Ever 1: Wet Rag

Things got real bad on Friday night.

I come back from work around 10pm and find Mark, who lives on the second floor, waiting by the building door. Mark tells me that his sink kitchen clogged, so I call the emergency plumber.

The plumber dredges Mark’s sink while Alesus and I skip over to the Showplace ICON theater and watch the new Resident Evil1 movie.

We come back to my apartment, watch Jersey Shore, and go to bed around 2am.

I hear a knock on my at 4am. It’s Heidi, the tenant who lives under Mark. Her kitchen is completely flooded with stinky black water that is shooting from her kitchen sink. Heidi’s bathroom ceiling is also leaking.

I follow Heidi upstairs and notice en route that the laundry room (which is underneath Heidi’s apartment) is flooded as well from water dripping from the ceiling.

I call two plumbers. The plumbers are unamused. Heidi and her boyfriend are unamused. I’m unamused. Glares all around.

I go back to bed. It’s almost 5.

Harley
charges my bed about 30 minutes later. I scream, fall off my bed, and immediately lock Harley in a kennel.

Harley then turns and spews diarrhea all over the Kennel.

It is close to 6am when I finish cleaning the diarrhea and walk the dogs. I’m exhausted and my nose won’t stop running.

The plumber was back Saturday morning because another tenant complained about a clogged sink. Between the dog walks and waiting around for the plumber, my work day started super late and I was in the office until the middle of the night.

I spent most of Sunday in a hazy, exhausted state. My sleep schedule was off all week, and the flooding issues in my building just exacerbated the problem.

Heidi’s schedule is probably more messed up. She spent the entire weekend mopping her apartment, ruining most of her towels in the process.

Besides dealing with floods, I started my last year of law school this week, had a super awkward introduction to my Tax Law clinic, and the new neighborhood felon found out where I live.

My goal for the coming week is to maintain a consistent schedule and to deal with less flooding issues. Lofty isn’t it?

1 Resident Evil was thoroughly entertaining. The critics who panned it for its dialogue are missing the point – it’s based on a horror video game. This is about zombies and guns, not high drama.

I have no idea how you manage to still read other blogs with all this going on! I’d be crying in a corner (not near the diarrhea kennel) at this point. Keep on truckin’!

Buhaha, I make time! Besides, it’s easy since most law students stop blogging a few weeks into school.

Poor Heidi! That sounds nasty. I hope she has her tetanus booster up to date.
