So there’s a new member of the Jansen household – Ingrid.
She’s a Labradoodle (Labrador + Poodle mix) and about four months old.
I’ve contemplated getting a second dog ever since moving to Texas because I left Hugo back in Minnesota.
There a ton of dogs in my building, but Günter was still getting increasingly withdrawn at home.
So now we have a puppy.
Günter loves the extra dog walks, although he’s not quite sure about the puppy energy.
Starting all over again with the potty training isn’t ideal, but I’m far more organized about it this time around. We’ve had minimal accidents (aside from the first night when Ingrid pissed all over me while I carried her outside.)
She’s even learning how to manage the stairs!
Working from home makes dog training much easier. My coffee breaks are now replaced by potty breaks.
I’m also very conscious about being consistent with Ingrid’s behavioral training. Like a new parent who previously judged everyone else’s Bébé’s Kids, I want to make sure my dog is better behave than the wildthings that some of my neighbors have.
Let’s hope that’s the case!
