I recently bought a new lens for my camera and decided to test it out along the Trinity River. These are the first shots.
Shooting along the Trinity River is interesting because you have a gorgeous view of downtown crisscrossed with powerlines. The powerlines don’t necessarily “ruin” the view, but rather complicate it and make for interesting photos.

There are also some very colorful characters on that side of the river, so I had to remain very vigilant to ensure that my first day with the new camera lens wouldn’t be my last.
This woman was a bit beyond the ideal range of the lens (a 135mm), but I am happy with the amount of detail captured. Subsequent photos look better, but I like to remember these as my first shots with the professional (non-kit) lens.
