My tax professor’s asides:
Professor A: “Part of what started this stink was smartass business school professors…”
Professor A: “I’m sorry I’m not my usual sparkling self. I spent a long weekend in Boston eating way too much seafood…”
Ah, and then there’s Conflicts. I think that final is going to be a disaster because the restatements for choice of law (and decisions) are about as clear as this:
§ 25-215. Actions barred by foreign laws.
All actions and causes of action which are barred by laws of any other state, territory or country shall be deemed barred in this state; but no action shall be barred by laws of any other state, territory or country unless the same would have been barred by the provisions of this chapter had the defendant been a resident of this state for the period herein prescribed.
Professor V: “The legislature admitted that “to say that this section makes any particular sense would be a gross overstatement.”
Professor V explained why she calls herself the indirect mother of Nebraska choice of law:
Professor V: “A former student of mine became a conflicts professor in Nebraska and got caught up in my hysteria about statute of limitations. She ended up in a bar with a member of Nebraska’s judiciary committee and convinced him that the bar should be changed.”
So that’s what professors talk about in bars. I knew it!
