I’ve never heard of “cedar-planked salmon” before, but the package at the grocery store convinced me to give it a whirl.
I made the salmon with a bed of bacon-infused rice, which turned out to be the best part of the meal.
Although the cedar plank was an interesting gimmick, the salmon was not great. Specifically, the cedar-planked salmon was covered in an overly-sweet sauce that made it taste like fast food Chinese takeout rather than quality fish from a grocery store. Now we know!
The side-salad and bacon-rice were delicious. The bacon was from a giant precooked bag that I also found at the local grocery store, and it’s surprisingly good. We tossed grocery store salsa and pre-chopped veggies into the salad, which made it super quick to make.
I love my thrown-together salads, but next time I might skip the packaged fish. 🐟
