Posters in the neighborhood are very common — movie advertisements, parking restrictions, political art, lost pets, protest statements, cries for help, etc.
However, this morning, we came across something new — a “stolen bike” poster.
Here is the full text:
BLUE TANDEM BIKE THIEF
HELLO,
I’m a doctor treating COVID patients.
My wedding was cancelled due to COVID, but people still sent gifts.
One of them was a tandem bike (Off-registry, I know my friends are weird).
I spent two nights in a row after work putting it together.
Then you stole it. #savage
PLEASE JUST GIVE IT BACK.
You know where we live, because you broke in at 2:34AM Tuesday through the back gate.

(I made a gmail account, so you know it’s on)

A stolen tandem bike poster in Trinidad, Washington DC, near Gallaudet University.
I don’t know how effective this poster will be, but I’ll definitely be suspicious the next time I see a tandem bike. 🚴
