Denial

A walk through the snow by Wil Stewart via Stocksnap

A historic storm hit Minneapolis last night. There were 60mph wind gusts which made the evening dog walk feel like being simultaneously cast in a Willow Smith video and a dramatic scene from Harry Potter.

The bulk of the storm was last night, but this morning’s commute was still windy and filled with that soggy type of snow that doesn’t stick. Jill caught me running out of the school parking garage in this plague weather.

Me: “Ahoy!”
Jill: “WAIT! It’s snowing!”
Me: “Yep. It is.”
Jill: “Where’s your jacket?!”
Me: “Huh?”
Jill: “You’re not wearing a jacket.”
Me: “…yes.”
Jill: “But it’s snowing! Why aren’t you wearing a jacket and gloves!?”
Me: “Because I am in denial. ”

Winter is so not coming not. LALALALA, I can’t hear you.

You’re welcome to join us down here in NC — been in the 60s for 2 weeks now, then we got a random warm front and high today was 86º 🙂
