Hysterics

Gunter the chiweenie, hating the snow.

My winter break ended with a cold snap and the dogs had two very different reactions.

Ingrid, the labradoodle, thinks that we are in a winter wonderland. The cold doesn’t bother Ingrid and she is happy to spend her time in the dog park even with a ridiculous wind chill.

Then there’s Gunter — he’s probably having flashbacks to Minnesota. Gunter is not equipped to deal with the cold and starts protesting within seconds of being outside.

I’m grateful that Gunter hasn’t stopped using the restroom outside though — one winter in Lowertown was so bad that he refused to poop in the snow. I later found surprises in my closet (specifically in the shoes.) It was awful.

Although we have another round of snow scheduled for tomorrow, it’s supposed to climb into the 50s later in the week.

Gunter will be thrilled — but for now, he’ll have to put up with the cold (and stay the hell away from my shoes.)

The dogs are going to have to adjust to a new schedule this week because I start class tomorrow. The semester officially begins next week, but I am taking a one week mini-course. I actually registered for the course (EU Tax Law) while studying for finals after one of my classmates asked about my schedule and pointed out that I was one credit short for graduation (!!!)

It was between starting the semester early with a one-week course or figuring out how to suture one more full-semester class onto my schedule. The one-week class seemed like the more prudent option, even if it cuts my winter break (and the dog walks) short. 📚
