The Trulia and Rent.com apps are my new obsession.
I decided on Dallas – everything is cleared with work, and now I’m trying to figure out where to live.
Having lived in shitty apartment buildings before, I’m scared that I’m going to get into another rodent den situation.
I am considering several neighborhoods around downtown Dallas, including Oak Lawn, but many of the allegedly luxury apartment buildings have absolutely, terrible, reviews.
However, I am not sure how much stock to put into bad reviews, because apartment reviews are typically written by people who are:
- Absolutely pissed about the building.
- Unsuited for apartment life (i.e. “loud neighbors!!”)
- Working for the building management company.
This going to be a crap shoot regardless. Maybe I should just find a short lease until I get my bearings?
