Zooming

A nighttime look at Judiciary Square in Washington D.C.

I somehow stumbled into a time warp after moving to D.C. — my workdays are packed and the weeks move by at a surprisingly fast clip. I frequently find myself glancing at my computer clock at work and wondering “How the hell is it 7 p.m. already?”

The fullness of my weeks means that I need to be more intentional about scheduling important non-work related tasks — like exercising or blogging — otherwise they will not happen.

So, this week I’ll test out Cal Newport’s the time-blocking method, and see how it works. I have blissfully unrealistic expectations of boundless productivity and wellness: watch my skin clear, my schedule unfold seamlessly, and why yes, that glow is emanating from my optimally-balanced aura!

Although it is unlikely that people will refer to me as the second-coming of Gwyneth Paltrow in 5 days, hopefully this won’t be a complete disaster. ☕
